Welcome
A warm Welcome to the Parish of St Martin's, Welton. This is a small but friendly church in the centre of the village of Welton in the county of Northamptonshire. Although Welton is only a couple of miles outside of the market town of Daventry, it remains a village community and we are proud of the welcome extended to visitors.
People look to the church for many reasons. If you want to arrange a baptism (christening) or a wedding please click on the appropriate page listed above. Perhaps you have moved into the area and want to join us for Sunday worship or to explore the spiritual path offered by Christianity. We would be very pleased to meet with you to discuss what God can offer you through the community here in St Martin’s.
Sunday Worship
St Martin’s is part of a Benefice with Ashby St Ledgers and Braunston. The pattern of worship at present is as follows:
WELTON: 4th Sunday of each month.
ASHBY ST LEDGERS: 2nd Sunday
BRAUNSTON: 1st & 3rd Sunday
If there is a 5th Sunday in a month a joint Benefice service will be held and rotated between the three churches.
All Services will be at 10:30am unless otherwise indicated
A Book of Common Prayer Communion Service will rotate between the three parishes every 3rd Sunday. This will be at 9.00am.
Coffee and pastries are served from 10am and also after the service. Please bring your own mug and we will fill it.

Safeguarding
The parish of St Martins, Welton is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. The Diocese of Peterborough’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services

Amazing Opportunities at St Martins!
WE DESPERATELY NEED VOLUNTEERS:
• For our cleaning rota (you’d be on it probably twice a year with someone else).
• For our flower rota (no arrangement experience necessary, just buy a bunch of flowers and put them in a vase)
• Building Maintenance - Grass mowing, tidying churchyard and helping to keep the building in good repair
• To be a Foundation (church) Governor at Welton School (which is the school for both Welton and Ashby St. Ledgers). No experience of education necessary (except it is assumed that you went to school when you were young!).
Do you like talking with children? Could you be a School Governor representing the Church?
Welton C.E. Academy needs a Foundation Governor. Being a Foundation Governor (representing the Church) is very rewarding. It is a voluntary position which involves visiting the school to talk with staff, pupils and other Foundation Governors (about 3 times a year), attending some Collective Worship (assemblies) and going to Governor meetings (about 6 a year). It helps to provide an important link between Church and School. The Church of England gives you training, and often your input can give that all important Christian context that a Church of England School needs.

Home Communion Group
A monthly house communion group is running in Welton, meeting in someone’s house on the first Friday of the month at 3pm. (A different venue each month)
Transport can be arranged for those living in Welton and probably from the edge of Daventry.
