DRIVER FEEDBACK SPEED SIGNS
Driver feedback speed signs on Rt. 55 East (East Main Street) Rt. 645 (Old Tavern Road / Fauquier Avenue) are owned by the Town of The Plains. The signs operate using solar and battery backup. Occasionally, these signs stop operating. If you notice that either of the signs are not operating as you pass the sign, please contact the Town Office. Thank you. The signs make a difference.

TOWN MEETINGS AND AGENDA CUT-OFF DATES
NOTICE: STARTING JULY 1, 2022 ALL TOWN MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE COCHRAN LODGE LOCATED AT 6514 MAIN STREET, THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA 20198.
TOWN COUNCIL - The Town Council meets monthly on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the COCHRAN LODGE LOCATED AT 6514 MAIN STREET, THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA 20198. Public Hearings are generally held the same night at 7:00 p.m. Items to be placed on the Town Council agenda should be provided to the Town Clerk/Treasurer two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. Meetings are open to the public.
PLANNING COMMISSION -The Planning Commission meets monthly on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the COCHRAN LODGE LOCATED AT 6514 MAIN STREET, THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA 20198. The cut-off date for monthly meetings is about two weeks prior to the meeting. Please submit items to the Town Clerk/Treasurer.

The meeting will be held at COCHRAN LODGE LOCATED AT 6514 MAIN STREET, THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA 20198. The cut-off date to submit to the Parks Authority is two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. Please submit to the Town Clerk/Treasurer.
TRAFFIC CALMING & SPEED REDUCTION COMMITTEE - Meets on an as-needed basis. All meetings are open to the public.

HISTORIC DISTRICT FOR THE PLAINS, VIRGINIA
The application document for the historic district is now posted on the Virginia Department of Historic Resources Webpage. A copy of the approved Historic District can be found on the website or by clicking here. The entire town is now within a historic district assuring preservation for generations to come.

Our Town meetings are now back to a regular schedule. Our chefs have their restaurants open and shops keepers are looking forward to seeing you in their stores. They are doing the best that they can to serve you.
Starting July 2022 all town meetings will be held at 6514 Main Street, The Plains, Virginia 20198. Locally, we all know it as the Cochran Lodge. Thank you.
