The Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the New England area. Our group is made up of dedicated volunteers. These are the people who care for the homeless, abused and unwanted boxers because they have a love and passion for the breed and believe they all deserve a second chance.
Make a Donation
The Boxer Rescue could not exist without donations from people like you. Many of our dogs coming into rescue require expensive medical treatment before they can be placed in their “forever” homes. The adoption donation is often not sufficient to cover all of the expenses. Since The Boxer Rescue is solely operated on a volunteer basis, funding is always tight; therefore, your donation small or large will go a long way in helping our dogs in need.

Meet Grace 🐾 7 YRS 🐾 F
LITERAL PERFECTION RIGHT HERE!! This is 7 year old, Grace. She is as friendly and wiggley as they come… Not to mention, ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!
At 7 years old, she’s long past her crazy town puppy days, but she is still very much full of that awesome boxer energy and love of life. Grace is a big fan of swimming in the nearby pond, loves a game of fetch, and is happy to keep active. She accepts any and all attention and shows just how happy she is by wagging and wiggling that boxer bum, non stop!
Grace will be placed as an only dog, as she tends to be a resource guarder WITH DOGS ONLY… not humans. We are not sure if she has some reactivity to other dogs when walking, as we didn’t witness it. However, a new home should note it’s a possibility and be prepared to manage it if needed.
So, the good news is that Grace gets to be someone’s one and only where she can get all the love and attention. And she’ll willingly dish it right back ❤️
Grace is left for long hours and has had a few accidents. Not her fault. I’d do the same. She will thrive in a home where long hours alone are a thing of the past, and where time spent with humans are the norm.
When our volunteer met Grace, her first words to us were, “She is pure boxer gold… someone is going to be so lucky 🍀 “

Meet Sophie 🐾 4 YRS 🐾 F

This. Girl. 
Beautiful, sweet Sophie has had very little interest. So, she had herself a photo shoot, in the hopes that someone will see just how amazingly stunning she is, not only on the outside, but also on the inside.
Sophie is 4 years old. She found herself in a not so loving home situation, but thankfully was saved by a kind human, who has been caring for Sophie for the past few months. She reached out to us, to help find her a forever home, with a special someone or family.
One of our volunteers has been spending time with Sophie to help us determine what her needs are. The consensus is that Sophie is a sweetheart! She’s been with her, out and about, and Sophie has been very appropriate with passing strangers, and even with other dogs. She’s super curious, always looking for the next best thing to smell, see, or hear. They enjoyed some beach time, and her senses were firing on all cylinders. She was in her glory.
Sophie is very strong. She’s getting used to her new harness, and learning how to walk like a lady on leash. It’s a work in progress. She’s very food motivated and a fast learner, so training Sophie will be fun and easy peasy. She’s ready to learn… Are you ready to teach her?
Her energy level isn’t crazy high, but she certainly could use some long walks and a consistent outlet to drain the energy she does have. She has a tendency to get amped up in typical boxer fashion and she is very vocal. Sophie would absolutely benefit from a human who is well versed in “boxer” and who can work with her in a positive way. In her past life, we have been made aware that a pellet gun was fired off in the air, to get her attention and “recall” her. It’s no surprise that the loud bangs, are scary for her.
Sophie doesn’t LOVE being left alone for long periods. She fusses about it, and we are pretty sure she’s saying “get back here, sit on the couch, and snuggle with me”. She does chill out after a few minutes and relaxes until her human comes back. She isn’t alone for long periods, however, and is used to having company throughout the day.
All in all, this girl is your typical boxer. She just needs someone to put in the time and commit to some positive based training with her. With some exercise, attention, and boxer understanding, Sophie’s gonna SHINE!
She’s up to date on all her vaccines and is spayed. She is ready to find her forever home!!
OTHER DOGS? Not at this time. SHE needs more time to be her best self. In a few months, once she’s settled and has some training under her wiggle butt, perhaps she can meet some other dogs.
CATS? No
KIDS? No young kids. 12ish + could be ok
FENCED IN YARD? Most ideal for her. She loves to run and zoom. It’s her happy place, and we’d love for her to be able to experience that.

Adopt A Boxer
We often have many beautiful boxers in need of forever homes. From puppies to seniors, they all deserve their happily ever after. Keep an open mind and an open heart, and you just might find your best friend.
Foster a Boxer
Foster homes are a critical piece of our rescue puzzle and enable us to learn as much as we can about the boxers that come to us before being placed in forever homes.
Volunteer
We are always in need of volunteers. Do as little or as much as you want to help us, help them.

Why Two Female Dogs May Not Be the Best Combination
If you find yourself considering this sort of same-sex adoption scenario, think again. As cute and playful same-sex sibling puppies are, chances are that once they mature, they will engage in some serious discussions that could turn bloody.
Is the boxer the right breed for you?
Boxers are forever puppies. They seem to never to “grow up”. So be prepared to deal with puppy behavior until they are around 3-4 years old. They require a lot of exercise and stimulation. Multiple long walks a day will help tire them out, and we all know that a “tired boxer is a good boxer”.
