Joelle and Matt met in New Orleans in 2019, when Joelle hand-selected Matt from the Tulane School of Medicine composite photo with her roommate Abby (Matt's classmate) one fateful summer evening. Work, travel and inclement weather kept them from meeting up right away. Thankfully Matt (the eternal optimist) persisted, and once the two finally met at White Linen Night, their shared love of the hunt for the best cheeseburger in Nola made them inseparable. They spent the summer eating and drinking their way through the hottest (pun intended) Nola events, like Red Dress Run - pictured below from a stranger on Bourbon Street, their second date! They haven't missed an opportunity to dress up in costume together since. In 2021, Matt "matched" into an Emergency Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, which brought the two back to New York, Joelle's home state. Matt and Joelle currently live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with their two cats: Lucy & Peggy. And on November 26th, surrounded by the Solomon & Ashton clans, with the golden hour Manhattan skyline behind them, Matt made the two an official Krewe.
