My Gear: Heart Rate + Calorie Counter Watch by Liquid Pulse

I got myself a new Liquid Pulse’s Heart Rate Watch from an E-Bay auction store (onlinedigitalauctions) last week. The winning bid is about RM 98 + shipping fee from Australia to Kuching. Initially, I was planning to get the HR 102 Heart Rate Monitor Watch from Oregon Scientific, however it cost almost twice the price.

Well, basically it’s capable of performing these sports functions;

1) measuring your heart rate through ECG pulse detection

2) calories counter

3) stop watch for recording your lap time

4) exercise program management

Other than these, it got almost all the other functions that a normal digital wrist watch is capable of ex. water resistant, alarm, 12/24 hr time, date etc. What I like about this watch is the rugged construction, huge button that accessed easily and large display for my small eyes to glimpse while on the run.

It comes with 1 yr warranty, a nice egg shell gift box and an informative manual showing you how to use it.

I’ll write more about it soon when I start my heart rate training program.

  1. I’m thinking of buying one of these, but they seem suspiciously cheap. Have you had problems with yours? Would you recommend the Liquid Pulse heart rate monitor?

    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  2. Hi Stuart,

    Yes, I have been using it ever since during my exercise. Very sturdy and robust. The pulse measurement is also kinda accurate, I’ve checked against my wrist pulse. However, the imprinted letters on the surface tend to fade off overtime. Anyway, still a bargain.

  3. Hello, i supply Seca ECG monitors to the medical industry and heard a top tip for this watch. If you use a little bit of KY jelly between your skin and the watch you get an even better reading. Cheers David.
